YouTube Timestamp is a Chrome extension and web app that saves exact moments in YouTube videos with notes and tags, then lets you search them in a personal archive. It is not a YouTube chapter maker, timestamp-link generator, or official YouTube product.
Once installed, YouTube Timestamp overlays a small button on the YouTube player and activates a global hotkey (B). Pressing either saves the current timestamp on this device. Sign in to sync it to your cloud dashboard.
Yes. We store the video ID, title, channel name, timestamp position, your notes and tags, and the name, email, and profile image from your Google account when you sign in. We do not track your browsing history or sell your data to third parties.
Export to Markdown, Notion, and Obsidian is planned. You will be able to take your full library with you.
Currently, the clipper is only available for desktop Chrome. However, you can view and search your archive on any mobile browser.
Nothing is deleted. You can still browse, search, edit, favorite, and delete your timestamps. New cloud saves pause once you are over the free limit of 100, and folders lock until you resubscribe. Local saving in the extension is not capped.
The 100 cap applies only to timestamps synced to the cloud on a free account. Only active (not deleted) cloud saves count. Signed-out use stays unlimited and local-only on this device. Past the cap, new extension saves can stay on the device until you upgrade or free up room.
Yes. The limited summary beta stays $49/year. The $99/year list price begins at general availability. Founders keep $49/year for life with a continuous subscription.
Free includes 3 lifetime summary unlocks. Pro includes 30 new video summaries per UTC month. Both plans support whole saved videos up to 60 minutes, with English output. Usable captions and input-size limits apply; a longer video is not shortened to fit. Unavailable or failed summaries do not use an unlock. Archive chat is upcoming.
